IS YOUR PREFINISHED HARDWOOD FLOOR WAX OR

URETHANE FINISHED?

Here is an easy way to tell. Drop a few drops on water on an unnoticeable area of the floor. If the finish looks dull or white, itis most likely wax. If the floor is unaffected it is most likely urethane. The two different finished are cared for differently. Most floors produced today are urethane finished floors with aluminum oxide added to the finish to make it more durable to scuffing and scratches.

CARING FOR YOUR URETHANE PREFINISHED

 WOOD FLOOR

• AFter installation clean with the manufacturer's wood cleaner. Bruce Hardwood has " DuraLustre"
• frequently sweep or vacuumn your prefinished wood floor
• clean up spills immediately
• for spot cleaning your prefinished wood floor pour cleaner on rag and wipe the area
• Never apply wax finishes to your urethane prefinished hardwood floor

CARING FOR A WAX FINISHED PREFINISHED HARDWOOD FLOOR

•  Following installation wax your floors with a wax product such as Bruce's "Dark & Rich" for darker floors
• for lighter floors use Bruce's "lite n natural"
• sweep or vacuum to remove dirt from your prefinished wood floor
• wax the floor once or twice a year as needed
• Buffing the prefinished waxed hardwood floor will restore the original sheen
• Use a buffing machine with a fiber bristle brush attachment only for your prefinished hardwood floor.
